Mateo’s Tulum, Mexico (2/2012)
The grilled veggie burrito was great, and I love their really spicy salsa! I usually had to ask for it though. The fajitas were really awesome too, but I didn’t get a photo…
I ended up eating here a lot, but depending on how busy it is, you should be prepared to wait at least an hour for your food…
La Zebra Tulum, Mexico (Feb, 2012)
Fun little restaurant/ bar with seating right on the beach. These veggie tacos weren’t on the menu so I was actually really impressed when I got them… Salsa was awesome too.
42*Raw (at Papaya Playa Project) Tulum, Mexico
I had the “Rawsagna” which was actually really good. Super light and refreshing… Tasted nothing like lasagna of course. :p
I don’t normally enjoy raw food, but an all vegan restaurant in Tulum? I had to give it a shot. PPP is a “pop-up” hotel so I’m not sure how long this will be around but you should give it a shot if you’re there. PPP throws really fun Berlin style dance parties on the weekends too!
Trattoria Romana Tulum, Mexico (2/2012)
The spaghetti I had was simple with just marinara and capers but really flavorful and pretty cheap too. The staff are super nice here and it was one of the few places I would drive into town to eat at…
Villa Las Estrellas Tulum, Mexico (2/2012)
The roasted veggies and cous cous were really fresh and yummy and reasonably priced. They even gave me some free habanero hummus and pitas which actually ended up being my favorite part, haha.
